I met Terry Howell in December, 2000. How was I to know that this would lead to another adventure of leaving my wheelchair behind and doing something I’ve never done before. I was excited to meet Terry for the first time and attend his self-defense pistol course. It was an excellent course and I learned a lot about shooting double-action, with my Smith and Wesson Model 28/357 magnum pistol. Terry took over an hour of his time to polish my trigger action and fine-tune it to shoot the course. After shooting, I didn’t expect him to show me his Buckeye-powered parachute. It was an awesome looking flying machine. We have made arrangements to fly just as soon as his new 550 chute comes back from the factory and we get some good weather. I can hardly wait. I have also been fortunate to talk and e-mail with Tony Schmitmeyer, a C-5 quadriplegic who is currently flying the same model. The following is a picture of Terry Howell, his wife and a little about Tony.
