I rented a John Deere 450H crawler that had hydrostatic controls, which could be run all by hand. It was the first time I had run a heavy piece of equipment since my accident. I rented it to spread gravel on the driveway and went to the wood to put in all terrain vehicle trails. Since then I have been looking to find a machine that had lots of versatility with hydrostatic controls to operate by hands only. Well, after many restless nights I decided on the TL150 Takeuchi skid steer. I now have a machine to manage my 200-acre Douglas fir Tree Farm. I knew I needed a shear, a 360 rotating grapple, land clearing grapple and it came with a ¾-yard bucket. Purchased a Great Northern 14,000 GVW dump box trailer to move trees, rocks and debris. This has been the best decision I made on a piece of equipment. Moving trees, rocks, debris, land clearing, selling hardwood for firewood, landscaping and much more has been very fulfilling achievements for being a T7 paraplegic. I did have to make a large slide board and staging area to go from wheelchair to Skid Steer. The hydraulic crane in my pickup, transfers me to the skid steer in the field. The pictures will pretty much tell the story of what the TL150 can do in the field.
